Our Foundations / History

Established in 2022, Tilia Homes builds on its heritage as part of Kier Living and is now owned by Terra Firma, a leading European investment firm, with the Hands Family Office as the cornerstone investor. 

In 2024, Terra Firma united Tilia Homes with another trusted UK housebuilder, Hopkins Homes, under the umbrella of a new group company, untypical. untypical aims to make a positive difference to the UK housebuilding market through an innovative approach and a commitment to excellence. Central to untypical’s mission is its focus on creating sustainable, inclusive communities, delivering homes across the UK that people want to live in and are good for the planet.
